Gourmet goods, food trucks, locally grown organic produce, wine, microbrewed beer. Are your taste buds tingling yet? All of that and so much more are on the menu for this year’s Taste of Hawaii.
Foodies call the event “the best on Kauai” and this year it takes place on Sunday, June 7 from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Smith’s Tropical Paradise.
During Taste of Hawaii 2015, the best chefs on Kauai will gather for the ultimate Sunday brunch. This year will feature two of the finest restaurants from Kauai’s east side: Oasis on the Beach and Hukilau Lanai. Hukilau’s chef is preparing cucumber and wasabi sunomono salad with Kauai shrimp. Sounds so ono delicious!
More than 40 chefs from the Hawaiian Islands will show off their culinary skills, with 15 different options of beverages to wash it down, including microbrews, dozens of wine varieties, soda, and water.
There will also be plenty of entertainment, with musicians scheduled to perform, a huge silent auction and use of Smith’s Tropical Paradise 30 acre private park. Parking and shuttle service to and from Smith’s is included.
You ticket to unlimited food and drink, for one price can purchased online for $100 or at the door for $115.
Who else will be at Taste of Hawaii 2015? One of Kauai’s popular food trucks, Green Pig, will be serving up jiggy fries and fried mac and cheese.
One of the best food establishments on Kauai’s South Shore, Living Foods Market, which sells a wide variety of locally grown, organic produce, and offers a gourmet assortment of packaged goods will also be at the event. We can’t forget about beverage vendor Kauai Beer Company, pouring Kauai’s best, locally microbrewed beer.
While Taste of Hawaii is a major fundraiser, it has also grown into the premier culinary event on Kauai and in Hawaii. The finest chefs from around the state create the best tasting dishes, a delicious extravaganza that is second to none. No one leaves hungry; we promise!
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Kapaa (for the 27th year) and countless community volunteers, Taste of Hawaii is the original food and wine tasting event on Kauai, which raises money for scholarship programs and other nonprofit organizations.
