Imagine a celebration of all things chocolate and coffee, complete with workshops, demonstrations, and samplings of these tasty treats.
Luckily, you don’t have to just imagine such a thing – you can actually treat your taste buds at the inaugural Kauai Chocolate and Coffee Festival.
The first annual event is taking place on Friday, October 23 (from 5 p.m. 9 p.m.) and October 24 (from 10 a.m. 5 p.m.) in historic Hanapepe Town.
We may not be able to review this event, since it’s in its first year, but we can assure you that Kauai doesn’t disappoint with its scenery, it doesn’t disappoint with its food, and it won’t disappoint at this festival!
The main focus at the event will be promoting Kauai’s rich agricultural industries of cacao and coffee while showcasing the many products and talents of area farmers, chefs, roasters, chocolatiers, baristas, and manufacturers.
On Friday, Kauai Coffee will present “Coffee on the Brain.” On Saturday, there are several demonstrations and small workshops that will take place, including “Coffee Cupping,” “Chocolate Tempering,” and “Fabulous Coffee Desserts.” While these presentations cost money, there are many things at the festival that are free of charge.
Not only will there be free coffee roasting demonstrations, but free chocolate and coffee tastings along with demonstrations, live entertainment, activities for keiki (children), a silent auction, and a massage station for some relaxation after a day’s worth of consuming some of the best tasting products our Garden Isle experts have to offer.
Small group workshops will also be hosted by Hanapepe Cafe. Tickets can be purchased through www.eventbrite.com. Everyone who comes will get a free coffee mug.
