Few islands are more visually stunning from the air, ground, or water than Kauai. The same can be said about the artists who capture its beauty and call Kauai their Garden Isle home.

Visiting our paradise in April means you’re in for a real treat. This month marks the kick-off of first annual Kauai Art Tour. This is a self-guided, two-weekend event (April 18-19 and April 25-26). Visitors have the opportunity to see individual artists’ and artisans’ studios, giving them a front-row view of where these brilliant minds craft unique creations.

Along the tour, you’re encouraged to chat with the artists and ask questions about their artwork. Plus, if a display catches your eye, feel free to purchase a beautiful piece of paradise to take back to the place you call home.

The first weekend of the tour is set along the South and West shores of Kauai – the staff at Koloa Landing® would be happy to provide studio locations for the artists participating. The second weekend tour is scheduled for the North and East sides of the island.

In addition to the pair of weekend tours, you can see a preview of each artist’s work during the entire month of April at the Kauai Society of Artists’ Gallery in Kukui Grove.

The Kauai Art Tour showcases a variety of artwork, such as photography, painting, mixed media art, and so much more. Its purpose is to bring public awareness about the quality and diversity of creativity that the Kauai art community has to offer.

The “mixed media” art that you could choose to see includes collage, 2D and 3D assemblage, altered objects (including boxes and books), handmade greeting cards, art journaling, and book making. Artists use photos, paints, paper, fabric, metal, inks, polymers, and more to create their masterpieces.

Artists are encouraged to give live demonstrations, serve refreshments, and create unique exhibition spaces for the public to enjoy. Let our Koloa Landing® staff help draw up a plan for your Kauai Art Tour stops. Call us at 808-240-6600 and we will gladly help answer any questions.
